We have slowly started building a new chicken coop with wood pallets. Since we have very little funds we are using/ recycling everything we can find. We found an old door from the house in the shed. It is painted a hideous mustard color and has a broken pane but nothing we can’t fix. We also have some left over metal roofing…hopefully enough for the roof. We have a bunch of chicks right now, under a brooder lamp, in the living room and more on the way (I think my husband is a closet chicken addict!) Last year we raised our own Thanksgiving turkey. We hope to do 6 this year…maybe sell all but 2.

Pallet coop building practice. We hope to build an even bigger structure with pallets…a new barn! Can’t wait to tear down our old coop/shelter.

Summer’s End

Well, the summer just seemed to somehow run away from me. I’m not sure where the time went…somewhere in between all my chores and time...
