I never finished my 12 days of Christmas posts…because I’m human. Sickness happens. Kids smearing poop happens. Feeling overwhelmed happens. Poor eating choices and seasonal depression happens. Rude family members happen. So is life. But there are sweet moments…

Taking my boys to Great Wolf Lodge was a great break…and stressful. Let’s face it…chasing a toddler through a slippery packed waterpark, for hours, is pretty exhausting. Luckily he enjoyed the lazy river about 156 times. Santa was the best there, very relaxed, and spent lots of time with the kids. He was much better than Yankee Candle in Williamsburg (he was really just all about staging photos and not WHY the kids were supposed to be there…it’s not just for pics, really)
We took time out to get a Christmas tree. We saw my oldest in his first middle school concert.

We had some togetherness. It wasn’t perfect but it was us. I see a lot of my fellow crafters throw themselves into weekend after weekend of craft shows and vendor events and wonder…do they ever come up for air? Is it really worth spending every weekend in November & December working? I have learned the hard way to cherish every holiday with the ones you love before they are gone (which could be anytime…we are not promised every day). Take a day…take several. Bake, sing, decorate, go see lights, watch Christmas movies, snuggle around a fire and have cocoa …whatever works for you and your family. My oil in my diffuser this week is Christmas Spirit. It smells like orange & cinnamon & love. Here is a great blend too:

Diffusing it helps to remind me of happy holiday times with those that are gone.
I hope you stop and enjoy yourself this holiday. My Christmas cards are going out late. Ya know what? Who cares! There is no prize for the person that finishes everything by Christmas. If that’s you….fantastic. If not…take it easy and spend some time with a loved one… because that matters more than a stack of finished cards.
Love,
Kylene
